Here's my first experience with cold weather camping.  I went camping in Ky in the middle of November, over several weekends.  The nights got down in the low 20's.  What I found was that with enough sleeping bags, you can comfortably sleep.  I have a sleeping bag at Sam's Club that was oversized and had a "hood" on it.  That really helped.

The first weekend, I had no heater.  My camper has no furnace either.  I didn't consider that I'd want heat when I wasn't sleeping.  I did learn that a white gas latern will put out quite a bit of heat.  My second time out, I borrowed a small propane heater (1000 btu's).  I discovered that was pretty much useless.

I've since bought a Mr Heater Buddy.  I can't wait to try that out.  I'll probably go sometime in Jan.

Something I've been considering is getting some of that foam insulation board and putting it under my mattresses. I've also considered the possiblity of using it to construct a box of sorts by essentially lining the interior of the bunkends and then covering all of that with reflective material.  Has anyone tried this or something similar?

I put the silver accordion folding car windshield sunshades around the edges of the bed frame.  I originally cut them to fit into the windows, but found I can just wedge them between the tenting and the bunkend frame.  It makes it easier to install and remove them.:)

We always camp with elec, no furnace, so I shouldn't be here but; I have had trouble with the water line freezing under the floor.(hand pump on the sink is not a problem) I have decided that next trip (Dec 21-Jan 3) I will lay 1 of the windsheld shades on the ground under the tank/lines and stand 1 up aginst the side of the PUP to block some of the wind. Think this will help?
