Saw mention of this in another post and went to the Starcraft site to check it out.  WOW!!!!  rEALLY different looking interior AND has oven and built in microwave.  Very cool.  Anyone have any idea what they cost?

Ab Diver

wssfetchwssfetch, thanks for posting that. I wasn t aware of that change to the Starcraft line-up. Starcraft s Centennial line has some real nice changes compared to their Constellation line: residential height cabinetry, heavier GVWR (3500 vs. 3260), and 14"  tires. I ve thought for a long time that most larger pop-ups should come from the factory with larger tires for a better reserve capacity and much easier replacement, nice to finally see it happen. The optional oven and/or microwave should be highly desirable to many of their potential customers, although at a cost of storage space.

They even have what looks like an" off-road"  version called the " 10RT"  with 15"  (!) wheels and shocks on the axle.  Looks like Starcraft is trying very hard to appeal to as wide a range of pop-up customers as possible. I hope it works for them, and the other manufacturers follow their lead.

wssfetchJayco is introducing an off-road pop-up to US market this year too.  Looks to be similar, if not identical, to the off-road pop-up Jayco Australia markets.  Has anyone seen the inside of the Jayco Designer pop-up yet?  Wonder how it will compare to this new Starcraft Centennial.  The Centennial s white interiod certainly is different.

wssfetchManns RV had a Centennial 3600 at the Worcester RV Show.  There was also a factory rep on hand.  I spent quite a bit of time talking to them.  Here is what I learned.

The 3600 is the model that they have interior photos of on their website and brochure.

 The base MSRP is $9,567
The one at the show had several of the convenience packages, as shown MSRP including shipping (about $350) and dealer prep (about $350) was $12,367.

 Show price $10,261.

Here is how it was equipped:

 Electric brakes
Gas range and stove (stove is a $179 MSRP option)
Microwave ($321 MSRP option, included free of charge as an introductoryspecial)
 Hot water heater
 4 x duplex outlets inside
 1 x duplex outlet outside
 Double sink
 Sink cover
 4"  thick matresses in bunkends
built in courtesy nightlights with switch
Fantastic fan (part of convenience package)
Spare tire (part of convience package)
 Outside shower
 11  awning
 16,000 BTU gas furnace
 Bunk end light with fan
 RVQ carry out gas grill

 Other features:

Ice box (chest) is under the sink and slides both to the inside or outside of the trailer.  The ice box is accessible when the trailer is closed or open.

The tall refrigerator shown in photos is included.  Its 3 way operation and has a freezer compartment at the top.  All controls for switching modes are on the front of the unit accessable from the inside of the trailer.

The front trunk is two tiered.  Bottom half has a slide out plastic tray.  Idea is that those with SUV can load firewood if so desired in the tray for portage to camp site.  The bottom half has access doors from both the left and right side of the trailer.  The plastic tray is completely removeable for ease of cleaning.

The top half is accessible from inside or outside the trailer.  I have a tool box on my pickup truck.  After digging a few times to find something on the bottom of tool box on my truck the advantage of the two tier system was immediately obvious to me.

They were quoting a Carrier A/C installed for about $650.  A/C would be located at another spot on the roof so you have the option of using the fantastic fan or A/C.

Per the factory representative, the Starcraft Centennial and Jayco popups are now using the same lift system.  That is, the Jayco style without exposed cables underneath.

The white decor and tall ceiling give the trailer a spacious feeling.  The ceiling when raised was well over my head.  We went inside a Coleman Niagra for comparison.  The Niagra s ceiling seemed to be only inches above my head. I am 6 1"  and shorter than most of my male cousins. When setup at family reunions the Centennial would be better for entertaining.

 wssfetchSounds like a sweet unit!

wssfetchWish those had been at the last RV show DH and I went to.  Ended up being one of those boring ones hard-side shows with very few (two) Pop-Ups.  Least admission was free.

LocomotiveMan

wssfetchRolling Hills in Richmond, Virginia has the Starcraft 3600 Centennial,  Leo s Vacation Center in Maryland www.leosrv.com has the 3600,3602 and the 3604 in Stock.  I phoned there today and asked about the 3606 and was told they are on the way for the RV show.  The rv show is February 14.

RamblingWreck

 LocomotiveManLocomotiveman,

Hope you are able to make it to that show and can give us some price information.  We are interested in the 3606.  Dealer gave us an estimate of $12,200.

wssfetchUpdate, there is a delay on the 3606,  It will not be coming off the line until the first of March.  Leo s phoned me back today.

Miss-Teri

wssfetchLooks really nice.  The only thing I don t like is the slide-out dinette versions appear to not completely slide out, much like the Colemans.  One thing I have always really liked in the Starcraft is the extra room from the table sliding completely out of the way of the floor.

RamblingWreck

 LocomotiveManTim,

Your information jives with what a Starcraft rep told me on Sunday.  He said that production has been delayed due a conflict with the proposed position of the slideout on the 3606 and the trailer s suspension system.  In order to accomodate the suspension they need to move the slideout toward the rear.

There is not enough room to move the slideout to the rear and keep the shower/potty console in the position shown on the floor plan.  The solution is to have the left side of the 3604 and 3606 be identical.  The shower/potty console would be moved to the right side of the door as you enter the trailer, e.g. location occupied by the refrigerator in the floor plan in their brochures.

Like Miss-Terry, I also observed from the floor plan that the slideout doesn t seem to go out as far as on other Starcraft models.  I meant to ask the factory rep if this eliminated the need for scissor jacks to support the slideouts on the 3604 and 3606.  If you think about it, next time you speak to Leo please ask him if the slideouts on the 3604 and 3606 need supports when extended and report back to us.

We got our copy of the " Popup Times"  today.  Inside there is review of a manufacture s show.  The magazine is quoting Starcraft as saying the Centennial line will sell for $9,000 to $13,000.  Basically same figures I was quoted on Sunday.  Seems to me though that there is some room for negoitation.
