Anyone looking for a BAL leveler? I was just on Ebay and someone has 2 of them listed starting at $48.00 + $14.95 shipping. The auction ends in 6 hours. They are item number 170067829286   I would bid on one myself it I didn't already have one.

Thanks for the tip.  I got one from that auction last night for the $48.00

They are nice leveling accessories.  I have a wooden box that I put mine in when not in use.  It keeps the grease off of everything else.:D

When you get it, make sure that the screw is one machined piece. If it has an aluminum cap on the top, where you put your wrench, call Bal Industries and they may send you a new, solid, one piece screw. At least they did for me.

The 2 piece job broke off on me while my camper was raised. I had a real fun time getting it lowered. Bal Ind. seemed very happy to send me a new one. They realized what a poor design that was.

Thanks for the advice.  I will check it out when I get it.

You have to look very closely to see the tiny screw on the 2 piece rod.  I have a picture in my webshots album of the screw/rod.:)

Another Achillie's heel with the BAL leveler was the possibility of the lift plates snapping at the weld areas.

When I bought mine four years ago, it came with only two (2) welded points per plate. The two welds were located on small metal tabs at the top and bottom of the plate.

I heard of the problem before I bought mine. Before I used it for the first time, I had a fellow at work add three (3) more spot welds per plate. The three added welds were placed along the main lift bar, and directly to the lift plate.  Heck, it only cost me a six-pack  :! to sure it up!

It's worked great over the past twenty-five camping trips.

One other thing....... keep the lift screw, and base cup well greased and clean, and the BAL should last you a lifetime.
