Well it always seems that I m always a day late and a dollar short!  My wife and I decided to look into going to Ft. Wilderness and Disney World the day the old website message board went away.  So...instead of being able to go back into the old messages which I guess don t exist anymore, I would appreciate any information you could give me on Ft. Wilderness.  I noticed,on their website, that the fees are around $60 per nite.  Does this include tickets into Disney world or a discount?  Also we will be driving from Texas where would you recommend a good half way point to stop for the night (camp ground).  Any help you could give on this would be greatly appreciated.

 PreacherHi,

The $60 Campground fees do not include theme park tickets.  IMHO Ft. Wilderness is the place to stay!  Great campground and the ground transportation to the parks can t be beat.  My group will be making the second trip to the Mouse House this June.  The Caddies can t wait!

PreacherThere are different rates for different times of the year.  If you go to Disneys web site you can find the rates.  They also have 3 type of campsites all with different rates.  There aren t any discouts for staying at Fort Wilderness.

PreacherSome one from the old board had mentioned www.mousesavers.com as a place for discounts for camping and other Disney things.  You may want to try that too.

 PreacherHi mowalker,

Mouse savers is a good web site.  If you subscribe you get more info by e-mail than is on the list.[:)]

PreacherWe got a discount code off of Mousesavers in August and got full hookup (elec/water/sewer) for $24.00 per nite. It was great! We stayed 12 nights for under $300.00!! The reason this was so cheap was this is their value season. If you can stand the heat (have AC?), it is a great time to go for a very low price...

PreacherWe re staying here for 3 nights the first of February. The price for us was $38.00 a night which includes a Florida resident discount.  We re going to MGM Studios.  Anybody been to this park? I ve heard such wonderful things about this campground.  I can hardly wait!

 sandykayakSandy,

During the winter months (school months) you can get some great deals.  The low value season pricing plus any discount (Fla resident, AAA) can save you a bundle at FW.

 December 2001 I got it for $34 a night.  December 2002 I think it was $36.

Living in Miami I would think you would make a couple of trip a year.  It s ony about a four hour tow depending on what part of Miami you are in.  When I lived in Ft. Lauderdale (OK, Cooper City actually) I did Disney 2 - 3 times a year.  I stopped counting at 100 trips.

PreacherI have never been able to get a discount for FW other than the Disney Club discount.  We usually go in either June or July...so I don t know if that makes a differance.  Now that the DC is no longer...I ll have to find a differant way to get discounts when I go in those months.
I have never seen Mousesavers have a discount for campsites during that time.

The most common discount is the AAA discount, but it is usually not available or very limited during popular (read that summer) times.

Some of the " Mousesavers"  codes will work for campsites, usually the ones intended for the value resorts.  You just have to make a list of codes, then call Disney CRO and ask one at a time if they work.  Usually you will get a winner.

sandykayakHey Sandy.  Yep, we re taking the pupper.  Never go anywhere without him.  The great thing about Disney is that the campground and each park have kennels.  I think it s $7.00 a day and you just have to come and take them out for a walk twice during their stay.  I ll shoot you an email after we get back.

Are you camping with FPUC anytime soon?  We ll be at every 2003 campout planned so far.  Hope to meet you at one.
