Newbies looking for our first PU

This is all very helpful, thanks so much.  My camping experience is tent camping many years ago and more recently 3 nights in the Palomino.  Usually it seems, you can get a better deal from a private party that wants out real bad. They're more price flexible & they're likely to throw in extras, but you have no re-course if there's a problem. Dealers can wait for somebody else to come by.  

My interest in a Pop Up is to have a "home-base" for my bicycling excursions rather than a sterile motel room.  I don't plan to spend much time in it except for sleeping, relaxing & re-charging for another day on the trail.  BTW, we have many beautiful long, paved, bike trails in Minnesota.  Iowa & Wisc also have good trails but most aren't paved.  If anyone else is a biker in the mid-west maybe we can connect.
