Does anyone else feel like this story is sorta fishy??

I thought that 4 oz of weapons grade uranium (90% pure), carried in a plastic bag would severely poison anyone and anything that came within 1/4 mile of this stuff. That's why it is so attractive as a use for "Dirty bombs".

What am I missing here?

Even the "waste" from this material is normally transported in containers like this:

First, yes, it sounds fishy.

Second, I don't know if it would severely poison anyone within 1/4 mile, but I'm sure nobody carrying it around would survive.

Third, I'd expect the plastic bag to melt.

Fourth, 4 oz. of weapons-grade uranium is a lot more than 1/250 of that required to make a bomb (but I will say no more on that).

I suspect there's a clue in the very last paragraph.  It's a political ploy to make someone look bad...or possibly to justify more money for the war on error...I mean terror.

My sentiments EXACTLY.....it smells sorta like the WMD's in Iraq to me ;) .

Well it has hit the echo chamber. I have heard the story, and don't watch Fox.
