We went to the Atlanta Camper and RV show this weekend.  I love our pop-up, but boy are the new hybrids really nice!! My favorite one was the Starcraft Antigua with 3 pop-out sections. Wow! Tons of room. But then I reminded myself of the wet, muddy dog and our wet muddy 3 year old that we deal with routinely camping.  A new camper is too nice for us! HA!

On a funny note, we went in a half million dollar RV. It actually had heated tile floors. I'm guessing I won't be seeing that one out in the woods any time soon. ;)

Anyway, it's been said many times on these boards - if you are trying to figure out what to buy, it's great to go to one of these shows and be able to check out all the different manufacturers and types of campers in one spot.

We went to the show in Detroit at Ford Field this weekend. Lots of variety there. Most everything we like is a 5th wheel. Looks like a pick up truck will have to be the next vehicle (someday). We are toying with selling the A and getting a used mid sized TT, maybe something about 23 - 25 ft.

There is one more show in Feb, but we'll likely pass that up.

I found my next camper (ok, it's really a TT) when we hit an RV show last week.  In my case, it's imperative that there are two decent beds since I camp with my sister.  And, preferably two beds that do not involve making up a dinette or couch into a bed every night.  That pretty much rules out a lot of what's out there.  BUT, we found an Outback that has two real beds.  Now, we just have to wait until one of us has an adequate TV and the $$$ to go darkside.  It will be a while!

We go to the Houston R v show every year to give us a shot of enthusiasm as we have a 20 year old Coleman Sequoia that is PAID FOR!!!  I have had a motor home (winnebago), and  fifth wheel(kountry Star) and I love my pop up.  It does what the big boys do, keeps the elements off you.  Does not cost as much to tow and run either.  One time we were at Palo Duro Canyon and this expensive bus came in and they were showering in the comfort station.  I asked why do you use the park facilities rather than the bus, they said to conserve the the holding tanks.  :)

Went to the Boston Rv Show.  Now some of the Class A's have a full bath and a 1/2 bath.

Maybe they will use the cg facilities to keep from having to clean two bathrooms.

Other than a real nice Montana fifth wheel, I didn't see any other rig that I would like to own other than my Kiwi 23B.

Perhaps they'd seen the movie RV with Robin Williams, and wanted to avoid a similar experience. :yikes:

We went to the Edison, NJ show last week and noticed the increased # of hybrids ( I think last year there were only 3 or 4, this year it seems every brand has a few). Also there were more popups there this year. I guess with the rising gas prices towables are becoming more popular.
I did see a $400,000 class A with an electric fireplace in it. I guess if you can afford that you can afford the fuel!

Electric fireplace?! HMMM... if I take out the fridge just maybe....:)

I went to the show here in Chantilly Va and saw some pretty incredibile rigs.  They didn't beat the one last year that could float and motor across a lake, it even had a small hot tub on the back deck.
It went for a price tag of $1.2 million - some guy in Atlanta came up and bought it.
I only would have a big motor home later when I retired and that all I was doing was cruising America sightseeing
