Hmm, maybe one of the nice Jayco folks can help. I have a 91 Starcraft and I have been through the entire lifting system. The first thing I would look for is a broken cable down under the trailer. There should be four cables running from the wench drum that you crank through pullys leading to each corner. If everything looks good there, then I would suspect the 3 or 4 corner stage lifter poles and/or the cables located in the same.

Hang in there, most lifting system problems can be fixed with patience and time.

What year is your pup? Depending on the year it may have a lifetime warranty on the lift system. Mine is a 2004 and has a lifetime warranty. Try giving Jayco a call to find out. It won't hurt to try and they may help you even if it isn't under warranty.

The first place I would check is the cable.  There should be a cover on the inside behind the crank. It you have a broken cable it is most 3/32 not 1/8 and you will need a tool to crimpe the end.
 The lift systems on Jayco's are simple and very poorly designed be patience the repairs are not hard but take sometime to complete.

Pick up a good pair of cable cutters if you have to buy cables and don't have them.  I cut one cable with some needlenose wire cutters.  One strand at a time.  Yuck.  That was enough, off to Home Depot to get a cutter.  Like cutting hot butter.  Snap!
