Hey everybody, my family and I just bought a used 1994 Viking Pop-up camper.  The camper was only used a few times since new, and was stored under coverage, so it's in great shape!

To inspect the condition, and since this is our first pop-up, I asked the owner to show me how it goes up and down, folds out, etc.

It went up and folded out perfectly.  However, when we tried to lower it, the two corners that are closest to the hitch would not come down.  We pushed down on it while cranking - but that didn't work at all.  I looked underneath the lifting pole to see if I could spot the lifting mechanism, but didn't see much on the first inspection.  Keep in mind it was cold outside, I had a 2 and 4 year old running around helping, etc etc.

I'll be heading back there this weekend to see if I can work on it and get it to fold down.  I'm pretty handy with a wrench, but I'm wondering how much of this thing I'll need to disassemble to get to the lifting mechanism.  From doing a little on-line research, it looks like some of the campers have the cables run under the frame.  Can anybody verify that the cables are accessible on viking campers without tearing out cabinets and flooring?

Are there any specialty or wierd tools I need to bring with me?  Torx heads or other unexpected hardware?  I've got it all in the garage, just don't feel like packing my entire toolbox if I only need a set of SAE wrenches and a screwdriver.

Also, any "typical" problems associated with the roof not wanting to go down?  Keep in mind it hadn't been raised in a few years.

Thank you oh great guru's of the pop-up!!!

I needed some Allen wrenches to work on mine, so take a set of those with you. Probably English, not metric.
