Filling cabinet gap?

We're fixing up a '98 Coleman Casa Grande.  On the front of the lower set of cabinets under the "kitchen", there's a 3" gap where the sink and stove hoses go when the top half of the cabinet is set folded down.  Any ideas as to what I can put there that will fill that gap when the kitchen is up, but not hinder the hoses when the kitchen is folded down?  Best idea I've come up with is a wide piece of molding on hinges.

Hello, There is supposed to be a metal piece about 4" wide. It is hinged at the bottom and screwed to the floor. It is 2 pieces ( one slides into the other.)I'm looking for a good picture but can't find it right now. I have a 99 Sun Valley and the galley is similar. I will post a picture as soon as I find it.

I did notice 2 small holes in the floor.  I guess that might have been the hinges.  Why both - hinges and 2 sliding pieces?

When you put the galley down, the length of the trim piece changes. measure the distance from the place where the hinge should be to the front of the galley, and then put the galley up and measure from the hinge to the bottom of the galley. I think the difference is 4 or 5 inches or so. That's why one piece slides into the other like a flat sleeve.
I'm still looking for a good picture. If you go to //www.fleetwoodrv.com and go to the destiny series (These gallies are similar to the older ones like we have) and click on the virtual tour, you can see the light brown strip that goes from the floor to the bottom of the galley. It's not a great picture, but it'll give you an idea of what it looks like. Hope this helps.

I had to replace the piece on my 1999 Coleman PU.  If you contact a Fleetwood folding camper dealer they can get you the piece.:)
