I have to sell my beloved 87 Coleman Colorado P/U. We rebuilt the whole thing including a new canvas. It is like new,no mildew,no smells and very clean and cared for.It is lightweight, can be towed by just about anything.  My question is How much is it worth? I bought it from a friends friend for $25.00 in 2002. It was neglected and we gave it the tlc  it deserved. We used it for weekend camping trips and is kept in storage less than 3 miles from campground we love, before we had it in our garage and it made quite a few 2hr drives to the lake with no problems. My husband has a person interested and the guy wants to know how much? and I need to tell him before the spring comes upon us.Yes, I have an emotional attachment (my first camper) on the other hand we did put a lot of work and $$$ into it. I want to be fair. New canvas was about  $700.00 alone. Is $800.00-1000.00 fair? Thanks for this wonderful forum! I don't post much but enjoy reading it all and glad I have a place to get info when I need it.

I wish you were closer, I love those little campers  . I think that style has an appeal to a specific group that would be willing to pay that. Try it, you can always lower the price. Good luck.

Murf ~ have you been following the popup camper sales on eBay?  Maybe, just maybe, might give you a little insight. Also, if you listed all the things you've done to the little camper, there very well might be an interested party out there soemwhere!  And, remember, you can always start a sale with a minimum bid.

Just a thought.

I would look at how much $ I had put into it and then take a reasonable percentage of that.  Perhaps 75%.

Thanks to the 3 replies on the subject of pricing my Coleman Colorado.

We have a 1985 Coleman Aspen, which is the same as the Colorado with the exception of the name. I think they must have only named it Aspen for a year, then changed it to Colorado for some reason. We absolutely LOVE our little camper and see it as a conversation piece among other campers. The first time we took it out (last April) we were set up between a 5th wheel and a Class A. We looked VERY small between those two, lol. I was setting it up by myself (hubby at work) and all of the men from the sites around us kept asking if I needed help. I kindly declined...and they were all amazed at how easy it was to set up.

Anyway, I would say that you have priced it in the correct range, based on the research I did on them when we first acquired ours. I have seen several on Ebay and they were asking $800 (new canvas as well). While I wouldn't ask that for ours (still original canvas with several patches covering holes - but I did replace floor and do a few other things), it is certainly reasonable to expect $800 in my opinion.

Best of luck on the sale!!
