Starcraft?

Don't laugh I just bought a 14 starcraft site unseen. I picked it up today, it is a rebuilder from the gitgo. I have to file for a title for it, to start with. What I need to know where would I find the serial number to use to file for the title?  There is a plate by the door with numbers on it, and I am hopeing that is what I need. The guy I bought it from has had it about a yr (It was given to him). He broke the main cable the first time he tried to raise the top, and gave up after that. I know it needs a lot of work, but I am retired and was wanting a pu for while, just never could get enough to gether to buy one. So this popped up for a hundred dollars so I talked to the wife and she said get it and we will rebuild it this summer for next yr. Ok now everyone can tell me how crazy or not i am for taking on a project sight unseen.
Any sugestions on this beast would be great help.

Our starcraft is a 93 and the plate is on the side opposite the door towards the front of the box on the frame.  Hope this helps.  Good luck!

Ours is 34 years old, and is in the same place as the aforementioned '93 model.
