Record Low Temps...

In the  past four days low tempatures have broken all records for this time of year here in North Carolina and the south east. All fruit trees like apples and peaches were in full bloom and suffered severe frost damage along with the crops of blue berries, strawberries, wheat, barley and vegetables. In some areas the damage is 100 percent. Global warming? I, like a lot of others, wonder. One thing for sure, higher prices for fruits and vegetables...

Doctor sez that it is much healthier to sweat than to shiver. This might be true because people who live in warmer climates live longer on average than those who live in colder climates. Better head south Austin while you still have time....

It's been a weird year.  Winter didn't really get started until January this year here in Michigan.  I used my snow blower twice.  Now that it's Spring we're still ten to fifteen degrees colder than "normal".  We've had snow flurries all week, and it was 19 degrees last night!

We are heading up to retrieve our PUP from the barn this Saturday, but I don't think it's safe to prep it for use yet.  That anti-freeze needs to stay in there a little longer.........

If you read all the literature "global warming" isn't just about it getting warmer. The increase in energy it's said will affect weather patterns and temperature profiles. Some areas may turn to deserts and some desert areas return to "green" along with radical shifts in localized temperatures and while not creating more "storms" it will increase the severity of those that do occur.

This latest "cold snap" is an example. The jet stream has been "outside" it's normal path and brought down air that normally would have been kept far north.

Boy, is that a relief.  I thought I was passing too much greenhouse gas!  :eyecrazy:
