I know some already have plans with friends or family, well Good Friday is truly going to be a Good Friday!! and Raymond and I are going to celebrate!! (Oh the youngest is 18 on th 5th and no longer "our problem" problem child)

Camping...Yes he knows it though he is not totally thrilled as he may have to do most of the set up (lowering the stablizers, hooking the water, and the awning) as my back is out.

Trout season opens in DE Easter weekend and in PA this weekend. So I wanted to get a campground with a stocked trout stream preferably with a creekside site that Raymond (NOT ME!!!) can fish from...

http://www.oakcreekcamp.com/index.html

Has everything I want, Stocked trout stream, creekside site (that Raymond can fish from), cable TV (for Raymond) Free WI-FI (for me), half price for the second night AND Easter dinner on Saturday Evening, jus bring a dish and the campground is furnishing the ham....Shady Maple a hop-skip-and a jump---LIFE is GOOD!!!

They still have sites if anyone wants to join us and I think they still have creekside left, I know they have other sites.  I do understand that this can be a family weekend for some and others have plans, BUT thought I would ask anyway.

I have to get a new trailer hitch.  Between Friday afternoon when I left work and this afternoon, someone unbolted the class!! off te windstar and cut the electric plug...jerks...we have our ideas and are waiing for the police to call us back.

Pepboys does not sell a classIII for a 2001 Windstar...guess I will have to call the dealer who put the awning on backwards, put the emergency brake connection under the battery when they were asked to put it on the side (and was told they would) of the a-frame AND covered up the "C" of my CabinA with the outside shower...maybe a run to CampersWorld in NJ may be in order this week...will call them.

I HATED my ClassII hidden hitch from U haul.

Paula, haven't you had your fill of bad luck yet.  It is just not fair that you have to deal with any more.  If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.  I hope they catch whoever did it but if they are anything like the useless pennsville cops, that will not happen.

HersheyGirl

Now Paula, calm down.  Tell us why you hated your class II hidden hitch from UHaul.  I have one on my Caravan and have no problem with it, altho Uhaul did not install it.  Hope things go better for you.

SheBantam

Becky is yours a classII or III. Mine is a class 2. it sits so far back under the minivan and there is no good place for the plug.  I have to get down on all 4s to plug it up. Plus with ANY class 2, there are few bars so my backend of the Cabin A sits lower than the front end, I have the most level class 2 bar there is for my trailer.

Seems after checking online, that HIdden Hitch is about as good as it is going to get if I want to go to a classIII with the Windstar and may even have trouble then, as I have rear AC...Oh welll

The class 3 on the truck is still there, so we suspect an aquaintance of our Youngest's who has a blazer and has been around a few times lately...

And yes, the New Castle COunty Police are about as good as the Pennsville Police.  They made a phone report...yes a phone report and I was told if I saw anything suspicious, to call them...wonderful!

We changed locks on the shed after Raymond gave Jefffrey the keys to get the hedge trimmer out on Friday and the key mysteriously disappeared...the say skey on my camping equipment shed...I want to move and NOT tell this kid where I have gone. We did take inventory and everything seem to be there.

Paula I am sorry that you are having problems again.  Hope you can get everything replaced without too much of an expense.

SLicer's thank their little hearts, is having me drop the van off tonight.
They should have the non-drilled hitch in tomorrow. Yes it will cost a quite a bit, but less than the tranny cooler last pay/month...around $350 ish installed with electric. Gee this Windstar for camping is getting expensive.

U-haul said that they could not get the hitch in and install before Friday afternoon because one of the guys there is on vacation...so Slicers at the higher price, it will be.

AND Raymond wants us to look at a pick up tonight. One of the local Ford dealers has a 2001 F150, with about 60,000 on it extended cab, automatic for about with his F150 in trade and what I have in cash, there should be little or no loan and that I can get through the credit union if needed.

Problem is it is black, I really do not want black, but if the price is right and has everything else I want (remote mirrors, power door locks and is plug an play for the Prodigy, then I am OK with black...I can always have it painted at Macco if there is no body damage, for not too much $$$$ in the near future (to a gray color).

SheBantam

3 more days and Jeffrey will be 18!!!  :cake: And outta here :# ...told him last night...I got a spare rolling duffle to pack his stuff, may even have a couple of them!! :-()  :-()  :-()

SheBantam

Minivan is in the shop, they will work on it as time allows, so will be using the Corolla for the next day or two.

We went to look at the black truck and I did not like it, a salesman came out and showed us a white F150 XLT V8. Power doors, windows and mirrors, had 40,000 miles and is a 1999.

We are keeping our leer cap, I retrieved the prodigy, but for the life of me have not a clue where to unhook the harness from under the dash. Since they are not that expensive, it will stay with the truck and I will get a new one.

It comes with a classIII hitch but only a 4 pin (yea, more $$$) Raymond wiggled them down and we got the "old" F150 cleaned out tonight (thankfully I had a session with the chiropractor right before so I was limber enough for the bending and pulling) and transfer most of the"stuff to the back seat of the extended cab, to be worked on more later.

Tomorrrow Raymond and Jeffrey are going to take the Leer cap off the "old" truck and put it on the older "new" truck after they take out the bed liner and reinstall in the older "new" truck.

No it will not be ready by this weekend, I will have to wait on the 7 pin until next pay as well as harness to the Prodigy, if indeed the 1999 is plug and play...well plug and be able to stop. I'm tired.

NOT camping Easter Weekend!

Too much has happened this week and the minivan is still in the shop. New truck needs elecric connection and brake controller installed and maybe a relay, also they are going to wire the electric to the cap.

Also have a lot of work work to do that I did not ge done this week at work due to an emergency vacation day, and out of office meetings and of course a 4 day week...comp time is a wonderful thing...

the campground was nice enough to leave us on the same spot, but next weekend instead of this weekend and with having the minivan back this weekend, I can transfer stuff from the trailer to the minivan and bought a box to put some of the stuff in.

So if anyone wants a precursor to Tracy's BD Bash during a quiet time of the year in PA Dutch Country, join us there!!!  Oak Creek in Bowmansville, PA

Paula, sorry about the bad string of luck.  Unfortunately next weekend we will be in Ohio for my cousins wedding.  My parents are taking their class c with them and we are taking our camper.  My uncles house is going to look like redneck heaven yet.  :yikes:   I will beep as I go past your house 3:30 friday morning.

SheBantam

Scott, I am NOT that close under the bridge!!!

Are you too young to rememebr Hee Haw, where one of weekly dittys was "If it an't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all???"  Well that is us right now.

Minivan should be done this afternoon but never can tell as they were working me in piecemeal, and did not really have me booked until tomorrow. Checked with them yesterday (to get a price on the electric (told them NOT to remove the 4 pin, I want to keep that also), wiring the cap up, and break controller...running boards will just have to wait, but I kinnda need them before peak camping season...Oh and a tranny cooler, but that is yet another check...Boy, camping gets expensive.

SheBantam

I went camping. can't say I had a good time, but then again, twasn't bad either.

Stopped be the dealer on the way outta town.  The plug they put in the van was a piece of....work...(you thought I was going to say something else??). It faces the hitch and points down and back...I gave up and called in Raymond, he xlimbed under the van and hooked it up, it fell out for him too...since I was going to slicers anyway. for a class three bar and the balls, I was going to get them to fix this also...they have me scheduled for Yuesday to put it in right.  The service manager taped the plug to the lid...I promptly broke the lid off when I got to campground trying to loosen the tape...they WILL fix this right...

COuld not hook up to water because I had flooded the camper when I tried to sanitoze the lines last week.  When I had the stuff arranged and could get to the area under the sink (AFTER Raymond decided aout 6:00 AM it was too cold, and went home and I could take the table out and put the camper back to sleeping on the benches (which he agrees is better space wise))...I had feared the worst but thought that it might be out door shower...Water lines seem fine, but when I was seeing if the connestions were tight, one of the connections to the out door shower cam off in muy hands. It goes in the middle and was only held by a rubber washer in the middle and a small plastic tube that goes out to the outside and a sort of resnt shaped thinggee that goes into a slot...now come on, that CANNOT be all that holds that...I suspect that the little tube actually has a screw that the same guy who put my awning on backwards might have forgotten to put the sctre in....The are going to fix that also...

Yesterday (Saturday) was beautiful, so I took a ride in the Amish countryside...It started raining about 10:00PM and rained alnight, but I was as snug as a bug n a rug, AND knowing it was going to be raining this AM,I hitched up last night.  All I had to do was stow stuff and unplug the land line and plug the trailer, which was a feat because I had to duct tape the plug into the plug...made it home in a lull in the Noreaster, actually it was windier on Friday driving up there.  Came Home the PA turnpike as I was a little afraid of the back roads and the little creeks flooding across the roads.

People were catching 12" trout yesterday, but for the $20 outta state fishing licence, that would have been expensive dinner.

Am home and backed into the drive. Truck goes in tomorrow to have the electric put on, the prodigy intalled, a relay if needed and they are going to wire the cap of the truck with the lights. When I pick the truck up on Tuesday, the minivan goes in for replare to the electrical, then I have to schedule the Cabin A back in to fix the line to the outdoor shower, but that may be after HIckory Run,
