We keep a fully stocked pantry in the PUP so we can make pretty much anything when on a trip. At the end of the season, I take EVERYTHING out and put it in a big plastic crate we call the "Camper Tote". The Camper Tote goes in the basement and we go about our daily lives. One day while making pancakes I ran out of mix so I went to the Camper Tote and got some. several weeks later I ran out of chocolate syrup so I went to the Camper Tote, problem solved. I think you see where this is going. Yesterday I was getting ready for the weekend (it's supposed to be nice) to dewinterize everything, and my wife asked me to look in the Camper Tote to see what we need to replenish. I went downstairs and lifted the Tote and almost threw it through the ceiling! It was so light. I opened the Tote to find...
...some tinfoil, a jar of mustard, some cake mix, sugar packets and some spices! I didn't think I used that much stuff, but over the months, I guess a little here and a little there kind of adds up!LOL!
Thought I'd share this story with everyone. Enjoy the upcoming camping season and be safe!

We've never had that exact thing happen, but it may, in fact, be a good thing to "use it up".  Food does not keep forever, and you want the season to start with fresh goods.  That way, a fall campout cobbler won't be using a 3-year-old cake mix.  :)

Oh believe me, we go through ALOT of food just in one trip so our "pantry" is constantly being replenished. Besides, 3 year old cake mix makes a great adhesive!LOL!

Ha!  Yep, did the same thing this winter.  Didn't use it all up, but made good use of the salad dressing and ketchup and some other things.

We don't keep much food in the camper. I have a hard time with ants getting in from the driveway. I am afraid I'd have mice too if we left anything besides a few spices in the camper.

We keep anything from a box or a bag in tupperware containers (cut the mixing instructions from the box and tape it to the lid). We have been lucky and haven't had any mice yet (knock on wood) but we make sure not to leave anything that a mouse can easily get into. One time I did get ants (in my driveway!). They went for the pancake syrup that I forgot to rinse off. They were coming in thru the front door so I sprayed some OFF bugspray on the threshold and they never came back. Now every few weeks I give the threshold a spritz. So far so good. Also during the winter I open the PUP every few weeks just to inspect for critters (DW says it's just an excuse for me to play with the camper! She may be right). Anyone else have any Humorous camper stories( that was the original intent of this thread)?

We keep all of our PopUp food in a big plastic tote.  However, the tote never stays inside the PopUp during storage.  It travels in the TV, goes into the pantry when we arrive at home, and all the supplies enter the normal rotation of foodstuff.

We camp at alot of places that have bears, racoons, and rambunctious squirrels.  :D  It's alot easier to remove ALL the food from the PopUp in one motion, in one tote, and store it in the TV if we need to.

we also keep a stocked pantry while camping - end of season we bring everything food wise into the house and use it all during the fall and winter.  We also bring in all our toiltries and first aid items to use as well.

Starting now I begin to buy extra paper towels tissues condiments as they go on sale at the grocery store and store them in our empty food carrying totes till we are ready to open up and clean and ready the camper for a new season.  The week before I know we are going to spring clean I retrieve the totes from the basement that hold our towels and bedding and wash them and repack them without lid a day or 2 before than i stock the camper before our first trip.

I keep a checklist on my computer of pantry items for the camper and can check off as I buy and store them.

I've never knock on wood had any problems but friends of ours had squirrels get in through a hole and then eat through their tupperware!

The only wild thing we've had a problem with is a squirrel eating our corn early one morning on our carpet outside my husband caught him after an early morning walk!

Yes we have robbed our camping supplies from time to time for me it's been things like aluminum foil or plastic bags more than food items.

Right up the road apiece is a place where they package MRE's for the Giverment and a group of us get-together and tow a utility trailer up that way and buy a few cases of the rations.  The great thing about them is the minimum shelf life is 5 years and they can be stored just about anywhere. They come 12 packs to a case and each case has an assortments of meals, some better than others. I keep a couple of packs aboard the camper and a couple in a storage bin in back of the truck at all times. The rest are kept at the house just in case there may be an emergency of some kind.  Not bad eating at all, compared to those left over WWII C rations I had to live off of many, many years ago.
