Any suggestions for a family friendly campground near Savannah GA?

The campground on Tybee island is now run by the town. I prefer Skidaway State park. It's only 10 minutes from the historic district via the Truman parkway.

Thanks for the suggestion about Skidway State park, I will try to look into it further.  Do you have any other details such as condition of the bathrooms, pool, family friendly, etc.  Any other information would be great if you have it.

Also, we were originally looking at the campground on Tybee Island  partly due to the beach location and proximity to Savannah.  Is this campground now in bad shape or is it more of a concern of a possible change due to the new town management.  I'm not familiar with this campground either, so any input on it's condition and the nearby beach would be great.

Thanks for your previous reply.

Crooked River SP.
I just posted a campground review on it...
It's further away from Savannah than you may like.  It's on the south end of the Georgia coast, just before the Florida border.
