I was wondering if anyone could help? I have 2 questions:1)
Do the bunkend covers really help out with the wind? I just had a very bad exp. with really high winds this week and it just about made me want to say the heck with camping in a PU. The roof and canvas was flapping and rocking BAD(50-60 mph)ended up sleeping in truck at bathhouse, not too fun. 2) where do you find the little skirt things that go around the bottom of the bunkends? I have seen others with them and would like to find some to hide the junk.

If you are talking about the Gizmos.....the answer is NO. In high winds, they need to be taken off IMO. The little clamps won't hold in those type winds.

The best thing to to is to make the canvas as tight as possible. If your canvas is loose, it will act like a sail.

You need to remember that a PU is basically a tent on wheels, with a few extra comforts. So they aren't the best type of camper to have in the wind. I have never heard of one tipping cover, but the wind noise can be loud. There's not much you can do about that. but you could place your TV in front of the wind to help stop it from rocking the PU. The gizmo covers will do nothing to help.
As far as the skirting under the bunkends, most people just make them from those blue/gray traps that you can buy.
Good luck

The bunkend covers are an insulation.  They will not help in the wind.  I just camped with 40 to 50 mph wind gust and steady 20 to 30 mph winds.  I added extra clips so that the covers didn't blow off.  I had them clipped about every 5 inches.  As for the bunkend hideaway, Fleetwood sells them, but you can make one easy enough.  Check out my camper pictures on Webshots.:)

I just ordered the high wind version of the gizmos.  Will I need extra clamps for this as well.  I would rather "extra clamp" then have to remove them in windy conditions.
