Hello experts,
I just go my new popup and I would like some advice.  This is my first popup.  I have been setting it up in the driveway lately to familiarize myself with the systems.  I will be dry camping most of the time.
1.  I am planning to buy a generator to charge my battery and to run a few extras.  Thinking of this one.

Is this overkill, or not enough?  I have an air conditioner on my camper but I probably won't run it.
2.  I am also planning to buy this charger to charge and monitor the battery.  Is there a better charger for me?

Do I really need a charger or am I O.K. charging the battery with the generator plugged into the shore power using the converter?

Also I'm wondering if there is some kind of battery monitor/volmeter that I can just plug into the 12v plug inside the camper to monitor the battery?

Thanks
Ribs

Some of the most intersting (if less than useful) responses come from non-experts.

That depends on the converter.  Some newer ones are adequate, most older ones are not.  A good charger will always charge faster, though, and let you shut off the generator sooner.

Any DC voltmeter that can read tenths of a volt (full charge to dead is less than 2 volts) will give a resonable idea of the charge, but it is important for the battery to be at rest.  If it just came off the charger, you need to wait quite a while - an hour at least -  before checking it.

I have that generator and absolutely love it. It's very quiet, light weight, uses very little fuel and should run everything you have, just not all at once. The AC is questionable. It works for me.....it doesn't for some others.

The battery charger may be a bit more than you need. I have a 25A Shuemaker Smart Charger and it does a good job.
