Just brought home the Jayco Jay Series 1008.  Can't wait to taker her out for our first excursion.  Thanks to this great forum and one other, I think I have accumulated most of the stuff we will need.  First trip will be weekend after next at Wolf Creek Park on Lake Livingston.  Can't wait!

While I agree with Grizz's list, understand that some of these steps have had some, um, interesting, conversations about them.  At least a dozen threads have been posted about this one here!

Quote15) Time to relax and enjoy!!!!

Whatever else, keep in mind that this is the reason...

What is the reason you shouldn't you put the stablizer jacks down before raise and lower the roof ? i'm curious..

As my Starcraft owner's manual would put it ..."NO NOT raise or lower the roof with the stabilizer jacks set. The jacks may induce some twist in the frame that could throw the lifter out of alignment as long as the jacks are set. Raising or lowering the roof under these conditions could cause damage to the lifter system".

This is typical of all pop-ups.  My Coleman/Fleetwood Bayside manual says the same thing.  I go one step further, and don't put them down until all bunks and slideouts are slid out.  If heard some find it easier to get the door in place if they do it before lowering the stabilizers.  But don't forget them - the results of forgetting the stabilizers can be an adventure at bedtime!
