Grey Water Vent Question

Greetings. I have 2 water outlets for grey water. The one for the sink definitely needs a hose vent to drain. It is a standard size that a hose fits on to. The other is for the shower water. It is much larger and I have a reducer to get it down to hose size. Does anyone know if I will need to also vent the shower hose? I have a Jayco Jay series Model 1008. We are taking it out on it's maiden voyage this weekend and I don't want to have to hassle with any drain issues.

Thanks!

I don't have a shower, but a vent is never a bad idea.  Since it didn't come with one from the factory, I'm sure it will work without one.  You'll probably be MUCH happier with the speed of the drain if you add one.  It's nothing you have to worry about getting done before the maiden voyage if you don't have time.  Enjoy the trip and then you'll have a project to work on when you get home.

Some manufacturers (jayco may be one) in their infinite wisdom put drains on opposite sides of the campers.  Many have permenantly plumbed the two together into one drain so they can vent one place and collect the grey water in one place.  As I don't have a shower I haven't done this, but from what I recall seeing, it can be done with standard plumbing supplies available at any lowes, home depot, etc.

good luck and enjoy the trip.
