Repairing material at bunkend

I have a question for all you experienced campers. Our bunkend material that goes down over end,(not sure if you call this sunbrella, or vinyl) has a small slit in it, we have since fixed the problem, installing new plastic protectors for the corners, but don't know the best thing to repair the slit with. Appreciate any advice. See photo for the area I'm referrring to.

What brand and year camper do you have?  My guess is that it is vinyl.  I would get a vinyl repair kit to fix the tear.  Is there any stress on the tenting where the tear is?

The camper is a 1996 Coleman Laredo. The stress on the corners appears to be the lack of some of the plastic protectors that were originally sewn inside the vinyl that goes over the metal on the bunkends. We have since fixed them with plastic from milk bottles. Just wanted suggestions for fixing the small slit in one end. Thanks.
