If yes how is it held to the cabnet?

I am also thinking about replacing my galley counter. I currently have the 2 piece top. The removable side falls out during travel, of course dumping all the contents (this is the side that is interchangeable with the stove that I never use). I would like to change to a once piece stationary counter area. Mine has angle plates screwed on the sink side to attach it to the cabinet. I think I'll make the counter top before removing the old one (just placing it on top to make sure it fits) just in case I screw up :yikes: .

I replaced my counter today :-() . Well actually I disassembled the old one, cut to size, and did cut outs for sink and faucet. I am putting in a slightly larger and deeper sink and I am going to raise the faucet making it easier to wash dishes. The stain went on tonight and I am hoping to get the first coat of polyurathane on tomorrow. I'll be great not having the one half falling off in transit every trip, also water from the dish drainer will no longer make its way down into the cabinet between the crack of two halves of the old counter top :D .
