Alright, the 'first' shakedown trip was to local Dixon Lake, but these pictures are the first real boonie camping in the new PU . This was our campsite in Blair Valley, inside the Anza Borrego Desert State Park. About two hours east of San Diego, there are over 600,000 acres to be explored.
I've done quite a bit of Jeeping and tent camping out there, but decided to step up the comfort level to appeal to the family a little more.(I think I used that same excuse to go from Jeep Wrangler to Jeep Cherokee.. :) )
The Jumping Jack is very comfortable, but not as plush as some PU's out there. The heavy duty construction and payload capability originally attracted my attention. I brought along the PETT toilet, tent heater, and even the DVD player if the the kids went stir crazy. Honestly though, it was nice to just change clothes standing upright and sit at the table if needed. :)
Soon I'll be adding two aluminum storage boxes, larger propane system, and probably a good deep cycle battery to take care of the few electrical needs I see in the future.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pictures, we all had a great time.
