Evening all...

One of the options available on new Palomino's that our 2003 doesn't have is a powered fan in the roof vent.

Has anyone mod'd their normal vent to include a powered fan?  I'm not sure I need it and also not sure what's invloved with running the wiring required (don't want to make any cuts in the roof panels.)

One thing I've considered is using a battery operated fan, something similar the pancake fans used in computer cases.  Any thoughts?

Also, does anyone know if the wiring for a vent fan is there, just not hooked up when you don't have the fan option??

What made me think of this is my father's old car, which had all the wiring installed for a rear window defroster, but the actual defroster blower was a dealer installed option....

Don't know about your model specifically, and your wiring, but was surfing a couple RV websites the other night and found a nice "powered" roof vent that was a complete 14x14 replacement unit for the standard roof vents.  It was a regular looking roof vent on the outside, but was round on the inside with a full diameter fant, a switch that closed and opened the roof with tempurature, rain sensor to close it, etc.  Seems like it was a couple hundred bucks, but looked pretty nice.  I think the motor ran both directions and had a remote control too.

Works really good. The toughest part was getting power to it.
