Propane Pressure and Tent Tears

Hi, we just returned from our first excursion away from 'camp driveway'and I have three problems/questions.
1. I seem to have very low propane pressure on all devices (RVQ, stove, and fridge. In fact, I can barely see the flame on my stove and it takes a good while to boil water. I can do it much faster on my little stove using a small disposable canister of propane. I can't see any flame on the fridge burner but I know its working as it is a little warm in the burner area. Is this a regulator problem?
2. If I can get more pressure from this system, I'd rather use my exterior stove with the same supply pipe as the RVQ uses so I can avoid using the little disposable canisters that cost too much for the amount of propane in them. How do I convert the small threaded connection to a propane quick connect compatible with the RVQ supply on the side of the PUP?  Dealer said I can get a 'y' connectior and use the same hose for both at the same time.
3. One of the kids pulled off one of the strips that keep the vinly windows in place when they are zipped open. It put a one inch horizontal tear in the tent. Fortunately, it is up under the canopy, but I want to stitch it up or repair it to avoid having it get bigger. I also want to reattach the strip. ANy suggestions for a repair to the tear in the tent?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It sounds like it could be.

The newfangled POL safety valves on reflillable propane cylinders sometimes shutoff or severly restrict their flow if there is a "leak" detected when they are first turned on.  Turn off the valve at the main tank, then all the valves everywhere else, (including stove, refrigerator, water heater, if so equipped).  Turn on the stove to bleed the pressure in the line, then shut it off again.  Finally turn on the valve at the main tank, and then go back to your stove and check if there is an improvement.  If not, go have you regulator tested.  Many propane distributors can easily test it, just call around to find one nearby.

That same propane distributor may be able to make a hose for you.  A 1"-20 Male to a Male quick-disconnect.  It will only work if your main "low pressure" regulator is working properly.

You will need to remove the tent panel from the PopUp to gain better access.  If you are handy, you can use a Sewing Awl to patch and repair your tent.  Or, you can take it to your dealer.  Also some upholstery, sailmaker, awning, or vehicle cover shops can perform the repair.

If the main L/P gas hose connector from the tank to the regulator (outside, of course), is stored disconnected, it has been known for little bitty spiders to take up residence right there in those small openings. Just in case this connection was left undone, you might want to take a short piece of wire and  make sure there are no obstructions right there in the openings.

Great suggestions folks, thanks.  I tried the on and off thing at the main shut off and it seems to have worked.  I didn't boil water, but there seemed to be a lot more flame on the stove this time.  Never thought about spidey climbing in there, but good point. I'll have to tape it up when I disconnect for winter storage.

Regarding the tear, I guess it's time to practice my stitchwork.

I posted a thread about 2 weeks ago detailing how to build a Manometer so you can easily check and adjust your own propane pressure.  Scroll down into page 2 or 3 and it's probably there with photos.  My regulator was easily adjusted to dial in 11" water column pressure.  Yours might be too.

Hopefully you can hand stitch that tear and attach that strap then seal it up with some wax?
