I have a 2001 Coleman Tacoma that I bought used and am still learning about. I have a couple of questions.

I learned from a previous post that the 12V water pump switch is activated when the galley is put into place. I located the switch in my PU and the galley in place does make it go into the on position.  It is my understanding that since this is 12V the pump should work off the battery. Yes?

I read my manual and it says the 12V pump is for models with hot water only. My sink has one faucet with on/off and a pump. Between not seeing a hot water heater anywhere and having only one faucet, I am assuming I don't have hot water on my PU. Is this a good assumption? But why the switch?

I pumped the faucet handle repeatedly trying to prime the pump - no luck. I then think I may have a leak in a hose and look under the camper. Sure enough the hose that goes from the outside of the camper to the holding tank for filling up the tank has a tear in it.

Where can I buy hose to replace what I took off? The following is printed on the four foot section of hose "Smooth-Bor style 101F 1 3/8" tubing PE Non-Pressure Cold Water."  I imagine any 1 3/8" flexible hose/tubing could be used. Yes/No/Recommendations?

One more question. Near  the hoses is a tin shield that appears to be there for no other reason except as a guide/protector for the cold water hose. It has a small bend on the bottom where it looks like the hose might rest. Is that what it is for?

If you have a 12V water pump, yes, plus it makes sure the inside lights are of when folded (a potential fire hazard).

Yes, that's a good assumption.  The switch is there to also turn off interior lights.

I don't have any speciffic recommendations, but whatever you use has to be safe for drinking water.

Could it be to protect something (such as the water tank) from flying road debris?
