We have a 2005 Viking epic 2308, and have been on a few camping trips in Oklahoma, and can honestly say that this pop up was a good buy.
I have read, however, that the mod to the lift system should have a round end handle, but we have a square end on ours-should we have a round ended handle?

We had the a/c unit fitted before taking delivery, and we're glad we did!
the furnace t-stat is a bit hit or miss though, and the furnace is a bit on the noisy side-are there any mods to quieten the furnace fan?

The fridge works well, the beds are comfy enough, the awning is very handy too!

We're off again this weekend-after years with a tent and youngsters-the best thing we ever did was buy a pop up!

Welcome to PUT and congratulations on the new PU.  I can't help you with the lift system question, but i would contact Viking and ask them.  Many people replace the furnace thermostat with a digital one.  As far as the burner and fan noise I don't know of any fix for that.  Enjoy the PU.:)

Check out the Viking Forum on this site, lots of Viking stuff there.  Yes, after the lift mod is complete you will have a sticker placed on the rear bumper and a round end on the handle.

Welcome Okie, so where do you camp at?

We usually go to Lake Roman  Nose near Watonga!

I was out cleaning the exterior of the camper tonight-it was filthy with sitting out in the foul weather we've had the past couple of months.
It took a good bit of effort and some washing up liquid, but it's looking much better now.
The rear side lens popped off somewhere, so I'll need to get a new one pronto.
We're headed to Roman nose this weekend as a matter of fact.

we live in the country, and I'm always worried about mice getting into the camper, but so far we've been lucky.

I camp at Roman Nose SP 2 years ago. Thats a nice SP.  Click on "My Camping Photos" link in my sig to see my pictures of Roman Nose SP.

It rain both night I was there and it rain very heavy. I had to clean up the mud in the popup from that camping.

Anthony-I saw your pictures-very nice! Hope you had a good time at Roman Nose!
I like it there, it's near town, it's very scenic and usually it's quiet.
I've a confession to make-I'm not really an okie-I'm actually from Scotland.
I've been here about 7 years.

I'm going to guess that you're from another country also.

Had a great time at Roman Nose.

I am born and raised Okie.

Here in Tulsa there is Scotland Games hold every year. One of these years I will go see the games.

Welcome to the forum.  While I don't know squat about your model, I do know that the furnace in our Starcraft is so noisy, we don't even use it.  We bought a Honeywell, I think, ceramic heater from Wally World.  Very nice unit, with a variable thermostat and fan.  It's real quiet.  When combined with the Gizmos and refletix, we've always stayed warm...even in the mountain mornings of 34 degrees.

Yes, the furnace is very noisy in operation. It works though! Keeps the pop up nice and warm in cold weather.

Raised the pop up tonight and checked for mice and ants. No mice, no ants, just a few spiders which i squashed.

Washed the Bronco, so tomorrow it's hitch up and away we go to Roman Nose!

Well, travelled up to Watonga, had a great time in the pop up, weather superb, kids had a blast.

My wife spotted a wasp inside the camper-I killed it.
She spotted another wasp inside the camper-I told evreryone to get out as I didn't feel good about this.
I killed the wasp. I looked around for more-I looked under the cupboard next to the furnace-another wasp next to a small round hole in the wood......
I went out to the grille above the fridge control and looked in, and sure enough- a BIG WASP NEST.
Removed grille, removed nest, checked for more wasps inside-none.

This was a lucky escape for us!
Next time before you hitch up the pop up-please check for any nasties!

By the way- the camp site was mostly pop ups this time-opposite to the usual.

Welcome to the forum Scotsman, I, too, am from Oklahoma. I'm sure here lately the need for your furnace has been minimal!!! I haven't been to Roman Nose since my high school years!!! (LONG TIME AGO!). We use to go to Red Rock canyon alot and scale the cliffs. We now spend alot of time at //www.lastchancecampground.com. Lots to do there and Bristow is just 15 minutes up the road. We hope to see you in a campsite someday.
