Finally made it out last weekend for our very first PUP camping. We went to the Lion Country KOA (its close to home and came recommended). What a great weekend the wife and both daughters had. As the camper is new to us (2002 Coleman Utah) we were not sure what to expect. We had the camper open a couple times to work on it and load it up, but that was it. Well all worked great, in fact so good that we were not home an hour and my wife was looking on the internet for our next outing (up until our outing she had very little to do with the camper). I think my wife was still in shock that I actually went out and bought the camper. We ate great camp food (no restaurants) and sat up late playing games (no TV, video games, or computers yea). Any suggestions for South Florida would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for all suggestions, help, and comments. They have been taken and used with great success. We are looking forward to our next trip. I only hope that one day I will be able to pass on much of the information that has been shared with me.

I'm looking for those POP UP TIMES bumper stickers out there.

We too have just got into pop-up camping this year. We like state parks with plenty of shade and trees and brush between the sites for a little privacy.

Getting ready for our 3rd trip out in Sarasota county. I was going to suggest a couple of state parks but I see your on the east coast of Florida. We're over by Tampa Bay area.

If you get over this way some time, give us a shout and we'll suggest a couple of place to go .
Have fun and good camping.

I would love any reccomendations you have. I have family in Tampa and I travel over that way 2 - 3 times a year for fun related activities. Now that we have the Camper there will be no need for a stuffy hotel room. Please let me know the best spots to stay. Feel free to e-mail me directly at progc@bellsouth.net
