We are going on our very first camping trip to Fun Valley in South Fork, Co this weekend; we just got a (new to us) 2003 Starcraft and can't wait!  We have been driveway camping all week :D !

I want to know what you can't live without when you go camping.  If we only bring one thing with us, what should it be?  I'm afraid I'll go overboard and buy TONS of stuff and want to know what to leave at the store and what to buy.

Reading this forum has been so helpful already, thank you so much!

beer, sounds cliched (sp?) but I aint camping w/o beer!

My best suggestion to you would be to bring a pen and paper and keep a list of the things that you didn't have and you would like to have.  Then go out and buy them after you get back and put them  in your camper for next time.

Basic kitchen stuff, something to make coffee (percolator or on the stove), bug spray, electric cords, etc, are just some examples of stuff you should have in the camper at all times.   As you go on you'll find out what you'll want to have.

here is a link to a basic camp list, there are some things you can omit but the list is pretty through and you can add stuff you might want or feel you'll need:

and here is another one that has space to add things on, you can print it out and keep it handy:

Have fun and I agree with mklawz, no matter what you've forgotten don't forget the beer :D

We just took our 1st trip in our new pu and i have one thing::: know where!! all of your parts are for popping the thing up!!! (and measure your electrical cord because we just about didn't make it.)
For 20 minutes we looked for the rod that secures our jacks and levels them out. We finally borrowed one from a fellow camper. WHEW!! It now has its "official place" in the pu.
Needless too say everything worked out just fine because we had beer!!! :!
We take along baggie size games as they are easy to store. IE: poker (deck of cards/chips) and yahtzee. Take plenty of foil and paper towels too..also a small bucket if you don't have water available. you can pump well water at a bunch of camp sites and this helps keep the stickys off of your picnic table and will reduce bugs.

Have a great time!!!!

Bug Spray
tylenol and whatever otc meds you normally have at home
needle and thread
first aid kit
nail file
tweezers
benedryl cream or calamine lotion

And all those tools and things the guys need!  hee hee

Seriously, do take a pen and paper and write down everything you really wish you had brought.  That is the best way to stock the popup!
