New to the camper life. Just purchased a Jayco Sport. Learning all the ins and outs has been bit tough. Went camping for the first time and had a great time. Dumped the black and gray water tanks just before leaving. Just today I went in the camper just to check things out and noticed some gunk in the toilet. Not sure why. Should I keep water in the tank even when I'm not using it? How can I dump this now that I am home?

From what I understand, you should try to put a little water and chemical in it, to keep odors from amassing.  I'm assuming this is a TT, so if it were me, I would park the TT near the edge of the yard, fill the tank completely and let it sit for 30 minutes or so, and let it drain out into the yard somewhere out of the way.  Unless you have a clean out for a septic system in your yard, then you can dump there.

Don't dump your waste tanks in your yard, even if doing a rinse.  Find a dump station nearby and use it.  They do exist, just takes a bit of time to find them.  Try http://www.rvdumps.com/ for a start.

I knew somebody would call me out on that one.
