Hello everyone. I am getting ready to sell the old Palomino and purchase a brand spankin new one. The model we are looking at is the Jayco 2007 Jay Series mod # 1206 with the bath & shower. I wanted to know if anyone has this mod or another like it. Any problems with the brand or just general info about the jayco trailers. Any info from people that own one would help alot before I shell out the cash. Thanks alot.

I did not vote, since I have never owned a Jayco.

Jayco has been around for a long time. I know a lot of happy owners. I don't know any particularly unhappy owners.

Having said that, when we looked at trailers, it seemed like other brands were more solid in the cabinetry and such. We also didn't like the way the "kitchen" swung over (left and right instead of front and back), because it still left the kitchen at a very low level, even for my wife. Seemed like a bachache ready to happen.

Having said all of this, we may have been trying to find reasons NOT to buy from the local Jayco dealer, because we weren't all that impressed. It was also very obvious that popups were not a big interest in their eyes, although I believe they had the floor/lot space for them. They usually never had more than 2 popups on display. We had other reasons for not wanting to buy from them.

I just bet that if you bought the Jayco, and you have a decent dealer, that your experience will be good.

I voted.  Not because I had a Jayco Popup, but I did have a Jayco Travel trailer.  The service I got was awesome.  The warranty on all Jayco products is 2 years.  There were even a couple of incidents that normally would not be under warranty (my stupidity) that they covered as a "Thank you" for being their customer.  I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Jayco again.  I would have bought a Jayco Toy Hauler but they are too heavy for my TV.  Good Luck

Hey Brian.....

Did they replace that defective chair for you :p .

We love our Jayco 1207.  It's only one year old, but there have been no problems other than the door seal on the outer door has cracked.  I have not gotten around to calling the dealer yet, but expect he'll take care of it for us.  Our dealer did a wonderful job with the sale, and all our accessories.  (20% discount on accessories for the first year after the sale!)

The flip-over countertop is nice because we can get to the fridge with the top down.  Surfaces and fabrics still look like new.

We love the bunk end fan/lights.  The "Water Purification" listed in the brochure is simply an in-line filter in the cold water line.  We also have the hot water heater and furnace, but rarely use them.

I would buy another Jayco product.  :D

They took care of the chair however, they said as far as my Tequila consumption goes I was on my own.

We have a 2004 Qwest 12A which is the same floor plan as the new Jay Series 1207. They changed the name the year after we bought ours. We absolutely love ours. Haven't had any trouble what-so-ever out of it and their warranty is unbeatable. 2 years hitch to bumper and lifetime on the floor, roof and lift system. It is hard to beat that. We don't have all the options, just a few including AC and 3-way fridge. As for the galley that swings in front like others, you can't get to the fridge with the top down like you can with left/right swing galleys.
We will be upgrading to a TT within the next year or two out of necessity because we hope to have a second child. That TT will also be a Jayco.

Good luck

Dave

Hello - we own a jayco deluxe that is from the 80's (early).  We love it opened up we are 28', california king on one end and a double on the other.  We love all the storage, even their tt's which my in-laws have had from a 28' up to a 3? 5th wheel - every nook and cranny that can become storage is storage.  Our kitchen ceiling cupboards slide over and when closed come down between sink and dinette.  We also have a closet that lifts up everything on the camper is orginal except for the toilet we installed and the household faucet which we remove the faucet when we put the camper down.  Would we buy another Jayco you bet - our inlaws have bought 4 :)

We have called the manufaturer regaurding wheel bearings and they put us in touch with a dealer right down the road from them.

Hope this helps with your decision making.

I didn't vote since I own a Fleetwood.  But last year when we were shopping for our pup, it was down to the 1206 or the Bayside.  Obviously we got the Bayside.  It was really close, the deciding factor was the tiny sink in the Jayco.  Other than that, we really liked it.

I don't think you can go wrong with the 1206.  But do keep in mind that the slide out adds a lot of weight and eats up a lot of aisle space while traveling.

I voted Good trailer. I have a 2005, 1006 model jayco pu. We did have some normal type things go wrong. A lift cable came undone, it had no vent line from the water tank, the awning was installed backwords. These could happen with any manufacturers pu IMHO. Other than these things it seems to suit us fine. Everything works and works well. Over all we would buy another Jayco, but not over look any other brands either, if we liked them better......shredder

Hello,

I have a 2007 Jayco 1206, but opted to get the model without the shower and have more storage.  We have camped in it 17 nights and no problems with this camper.  The slide was a little difficult to close up the first couple trips, now it closes up fine.  Last year we camped in a 2007 Jayco 1007, there was a couple minor problems with the seal on the roof and door - which my Jayco dealer  promptly fixed.  I traded up to the bigger camper after getting a bigger tow vehicle.  I am pleased with the Jayco campers.
