I have a 2007 starcraft 2409 with the front storage trunk. I cannot find any weight specs for it. I am not sure how much is too much.
Currently I have the following in it:

6 Folding chairs in a bag
2 folding tables in a bag
10x10 piece of outdoor carpeting rolled up like sleeping bag
wheel chocks
7 gallon aquatainer(empty)
4 Gallon aquatainer(empty)
2 burner propane stove
Ax

Does the front storage count against the tongue weight? If so, then what is the point. The Base/Dry Hitch Weight is 388 lbs. I am assuming that is before I put on the the full propane tank and I have 2 group 27 batteries. The tongue weight limit on my 2007 dodge 1500 is 500. I seems to me I am already over before I even put anything into the storage compartment. I have towed already with this set up and the new truck handles like a dream compared to my silverado I traded. Any help would be great.

Thank you

Jason

It does add to the tongue weight, but since it is closer to the axle, not as much as if the load were on the tongue itself. (Think back to science class and the third-class lever.) The closer the load is to the axle (fulcrum), the lighter the pressure at the tongue (lever).
Why not just weigh the tongue with the trailer loaded?

Good luck,
