We always dry camp and refilling the water tanks is a chore. I've seen the various mods using 12v pumps but thought I might give one of these http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Operated-Liquid-Transfer-Siphon/dp/B000KQ1HUG a try. My local Ace hardware has them for $13.99. I figure I can sit my Aquatainer on a milk crate and let it pump.

Anyone else try one?

We have been using one of those for years. They work really great.l You can empty a 7 gal Aquatainer in less than 5 mins with almost all the water going into the tank. We set the jug on a small folding table turn on the pump and walk away fro a few mins.

Watch for the pumps to be cleared out after heating season you can pick 'em up for about 5 bucks. I keep a spare in case one dies.

Excellent. Just what I wanted to hear. :D

I don't think I'll wait for the end of heating season :) but maybe I'll look for a spare next Spring.

I used one similar to that for kerosene heater in an old house I was renting. Loved it. Made transfer of fuel easy. Would work great for water.
