We are thinking about upgrading to one of the larger Fleetwood or Starcraft Highlander or Centenial Series PUs with the higher ceilings and additional amenities such as conventional and microwave ovens.  For those who own these how does the larger fridge/freezer and oven work for you.  Have you been satisfied with these additional features?

Thanks.

Yes, I think the larger fridge is a big plus, gives you quite a bit more room, plus you can actually make ice for your drinks. We like having the oven too, but it has a manual ignition, unlike the furnace, fridge and water heater, which are electronic ignition.  But we haven't used the microwave yet.  We love the hardwall shower because of the extra privacy in the bathroom and the taller ceiling is a big plus as well.  I would say if you can afford the highwall, definitely get it.  The fleetwoods have the black water and gray water tanks, which is big part of why I went with fleetwood. We like the Centennial and some of it's features, but overall we like the Fleetwood Niagara more.

I really like our 2005 Fleetwood Niagra. We occasionally use the microwave & oven. We mainly use the RVQ & stovetop. Having the slide out dining area is great. It gives us more room inside to move around. The larger fridge holds several days of food. As for the furnace, if I didn't have it the wife wouldn't go.
The shower is a bit small, but perfect for the kids.

We have a '07 Fleetwood Niagara and one of the big selling points for me was how big the fridge is.  Getting that, a hard walled bathroom/shower, slide out dinette, microwave, and lots of counter space made such a huge difference to us.  I could easily spend a week at a time camping now, otherwise I'd be at 2-3 days max.

And the fact that we can make popsicles for the kids is a bonus.  haha

We really do enjoy our Niagara also, 10 nights so far this season with two of those being with full  hookups the rest being dry, and of coarse every chance we get I pop up in Camp Buddy Bear (back yard).

Microwave works great, have used it twice two heat vegi's, not a necessity but nice to have just because. Also a great place to keep kitchen towels.

Stove is very efficient with plenty of room for pots or pans, I do most of the cooking out side on the grill, we also have the out side stove top rather than the RVQ,  coffee, eggs and sausage for breakfast are cooked out side on this stove.

Oven: You can't cook a Thanksgiving Turkey in this thing but it does a great job on muffins, brownies and casseroles. Stove/oven combo a plus.

4.2  fridge/freezer, holds a lot of food and beverage with ample shelving in the door. Takes us about  24 to 28 hours to pre chill at the house to get the temp down to about 37*38* then I'll switch to propane for the remainder of the trip.
The freezer is not as small as it looks and will freeze or keep items frozen. Love it.
There is no top down access to the fridge,  But I am able to raise the roof about a 1/2 inch to open the door and can craw in to open the fridge door enough to put in or take out if need be but would rather not.

DW and DD tell me the hard walled shower/head is wonderfull, I have yet to use them..Its a camping thing I guess  :D

Slide out is the only way to go, really opens up the pup.
Auto pilot lights on the heater, hot water and fridge are really nice.
Heater does its job perfectly.
Double sink and lots of counter space along with tons of storage are a big plus  also.

9 gal. black and 20 gal grey waist tanks.  some folks love them some hate them. We love it and have no problems with the size or dumping.
The Niagara is a big mofo at 3160 lbs empty, no water, gas, battery so be sure youre TV is up to it.

...We Love Our HIGHLANDER...:D

sorry this is so long

I agree with everything BuddyBear said, except we have a 2006 so no grey water tank for us.

We use our microwave all the time.  We traveled with one in the floor in our Utah.  With the Niagara that is one less thing to pick up and move when setting up.

I also enjoy the cable hookup on the outside.  We sometimes camp in sites with cable.  When we don't have cable we have an antenna we put outside.  The hookup makes it a lot easier.

The fridge is GREAT!  and the extra counter space.
