Hi,

I am a "renewed" camper, went camping with mom and dad when I was young. I bought a '97 Viking 225. Used it twice, no problem. When lowering for 3rd trip the Right rear spring broke.

What kind of lift system does this have? Should I buy the complete repair system (springs and cables) or just the needed spring? How hard is it to replace the spring? Anyone know of an online (Haynes/CLaymer) repair manual for this camper?

I am quite mechaniclly inclined so replacing it myself won't be a problem. I just need a heads up if this should be done by a dealer.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

I think if you're even a decent mechanic you'll have no problem just replacing that spring yourself. Probably worth buying the correct spring from the manufacturer so you have the right part for the job and it gets done right the first time.

I'll bet if you take a good look at the assembly and how it functions you'll discover you don't need a manual to R&R that spring.
