Hello!
I'm wondering if there are any other Work Campers here!  [Work in exchange for a free site].   We've been doing it for a couple years now.  We bundle wood for the campground.
I'm curious if a lot of campgrounds do this & where, or if we are just really lucky!  I'm also curious about the different duties of work campers.
 Thanks!

I can't say that we have done that, but just about every campground we have been to has a camp host which is a camper that as agreed to perform certain duties in exchange for a free spot. In the summer down south most of these folks are from up north trying to escape the colder temps and plan on staying in the site for maybe a couple of months.

We met an older retired couple once in a Florida campground that were from upstate NY that were the camp host and said they would be there for the entire summer. The woman was a retired school teacher and one of her duties was to lead nature tours through the campground. Her husband retired from his job as head of maintenance over the same school system and he headed up maintenance projects in the campground.

Check with the state parks in your area and the national forest campgrounds, they are usually open to having help in the campground.

Good luck

Check out the Help Wanted ads in Good Sam's Highways Magazine. You will find plenty of campground jobs in many states......

I'm the director of a kids youth group, at the end of October we will be doing a service project - taking down some old fences and collecting wild seeds for the state park. As a reward we get a free nights group camp. As a group we have to give them 4 hours of work.
