Okay I know all the skinny on roof sag and braces.  I have not had any problems with sag even with a/c, but I do have the brace installed and I do check the mounts occasionally.  Can anyone give me the maximum allowed weight that can be put on the roof.  I am thinking of having the mounts installed for the yakima roof rack.  I know that when I bought the trailer this was an option but at the time roof sag was not being talked about.   The way I fiqure it since the bikes will only be on the roof when it is down it shouldn't be a problem.  Does anyone have any insight?   Ken

Also did you have the mounts installed, and if so what did you pay?

I don't know exactly how much you can put on the roof (I want to say 300 lbs) but we have the Yakima racks installed on our roof.  We had them installed at the dealer.  If I remember right the racks were $140 each plus installation.  Then to save a little money we purchased the bike "sleds" off an internet site.  The Yakima sleds were $120 each at the bike shop and the ones we bought were $50 each.  We have 4 sleds on our roof plus a Yakima wire basket in the middle.  This system works great.

The roof limits are 300 pounds closed and 150 pounds open.
BUT remember that anything on the roof counts toward those limits. Not only the AC but the awning as well. Not to mention any rack system will count toward that lower 150 pound closed limit.

Thanks for the weight limits.  Now can you tell me the average weight of the roof A/C.  I know that I have the Literature somewhere and it is in there somewhere about the weight of the unit.  It would seem that if the weight of the top is limited to 150ibs open then the A/c must be under 150lbs.  Thanks again
