Places to stay near Disneyland (California)

If I was going to visit Disneyland, I would try to stay as close to DLand as possible.  Something in the vicinity of 10 miles max.  

Remember, Disneyland is an all day experience.  You'll be too exhausted at the end of the day to care about the beach of anything else.  Perhaps those ashphalt campground will be passable for tired people.

For more natural settings, the Newport Beach location is not bad, but still kinda far.  I have gone on nature hikes by there and I don't think its close enough to the main highway (PCH) to be a bother.

Last fall we tent camped at Anaheim RV Village, you could actually walk to Disney if you wanted. While it is on a major street, we had no problems going to sleep and felt safe while there.

hmm..didn't know they reopened under new name. disney was suppose to add new resort on that property

but I guess they did, here is a news story. my only concern is could it close at any time
