Well, the time has come. We are expecting a new camper sometime towards the end of May. DW and I can't be happier and DS can't wait to be a big brother. Don't know how much camping we will be doing this year, hopefully her first campout will be sometime in the fall. DS was about 6 mos. old before we took him out for his first, and he did really well. We are hoping for the same with "baby girl".

Advanced congratulations on the upcoming big event! Trust all goes well.
My friend toted his two youngest ones out when they were something like three months old. Now, some years later, they are staunch outdoor campers and fisherman!

I'm sure all will take up the "cause" with just a little guidenance!

We took our twins camping when they were just a couple of months old.  Slept out under the stars in Arizona's Mount Lemmon.  They loved it.

We took our 6-week-old DS on his first camping trip last July to a state park in NC for 3 nights. He was wonderful, and his sister and the two of us had the best time camping with him. We took him out 3 more times for a total of 7 nights before the end of last year. We really cherish the memories.

The first evening we were on that July trip, he began to cry inconsolably. I took him into our TV and sat in the passenger seat with him for about 30 minutes or so. Vehicles are pretty good sound buffers, and that protected the neighbors from having to hear him. We didn't have to do that again on that trip. But that was our plan all along...if he started crying like that, no matter the time of night, I would sit with him in the TV until he settled down. Fortunately, he only did that once!

So I would encourage you to get your new one out ASAP.
