Can you tell I have lots to share?  :)

Our campsites were simply sandy beaches along the River.  Because the canyon walls were so high we'd usually have shade by 6:00 or so, helping to cut down on the heat.  But the rocks stayed hot all night.

When we made camp & unloaded the boat we'd take our little camp chairs & enjoy the view.

All sorts of "liquid refreshment" was available!

Some people (men & women alike) pitched tents.  While they provided nice, semi-private changing areas, they were like saunas to sleep in.  Plus, you couldn't see the stars at night, which were magnificent.  We went to bed at sundown, around 8:30 & got up at sunrise, around 5:30.

Kind of looks like a garage sale, doesn't it?

Packing up in the morning.  The smallish brown bags were waterproof and all of our personal gear went in those.  We had larger "grey bags" that held sleeping bag, inflatible pad, and tarp (along with anything we didn't want in our brown bags).  Everything stayed dry!

Because the River water was so silty it was impossible to get our hair really clean.  So whenever we took a hike that ended at a waterfall everyone would spend some time under it trying to get their hair clean -- without soap.

I felt pretty good after getting "clean"!

One more part to come ...
