Just wanting to know if anyone has ever camped at this campground in Temecula. it looks pretty nice...I was thinking about organizing a campout in Feb.  I saw by the website it has full hookups and a group section, horese back ridding and a fishing pond, and swiming lake.  It would be too cold probably in Feb for swiming..but lots to do in temecula...//www.indianoaks.info.  Maybe Dave and I will take a trip to temecula and check it out.

Hi Sue,

We stayed at Indian Oaks last spring when we were out in Temecula to support a friend that was doing a triathlon. We also did some wine tasting. (Duh!!)

Indian Oaks is an older trailer park with a lot of permanent residents. You can expect the normal, cobbled together trailer residences that you find in these types of parks. Not a bad thing though. The place is kept up pretty well.

If you look at the campground map on the website, the group area is in the lower left corner. There are a number of sites with 15amp service and water. I don't recall there being any sewer hookups in this area, but there is a dump station in the park. This area is surrounded by a bunch of old oak trees and has shade in some areas. It is a wide open space and if you reserved the entire section there would be a lot of room for activities out in the center. This center area was all dirt though; no grass in this area.

The lake/pond looks like your standard campground swimming hole. We didn't go in, but there were plenty of kids in the water. The beach area was pretty nice with tables, shade structures, toys and floaties, etc. Just above this is a set of horseshoe pits and a volleyball court if I remember right. Above that is the office with the attached patio wine/beer bar. In the afternoons you'll find some of the permanent residents hanging out there.

We didn't check on the group potluck facilities (BBQ, tables, etc.) as we were just two couples. However, the staff was very accommodating. We asked about having a fire and here comes one of the staff with a washtub firepit and a load of firewood at no charge.

Okay, that's about all I can recall. If you have any specific questions I'll try to answer them for you.

Regards,
Hoagie
