Hi everybody. As you know from my previous post, I have recently purchased a 2008 Starcraft Centennial 3612.  Unfortunately, with the weather and schedule, I have not gone camping yet.  I am rearing to go.  From reading everybody's posts I have been learning about what I need to do to get my PU ready for the perfect inaugural trip.  I spend least 1 hour everynight, reading post on PUT.  :) So far I have purchased:
1. Honda eu1000 generator
2. 2 inch memory foam mattress topper for both bunk ends
3. POPUP Gizmos reflective bunk end covers.
4. Another deep cycle battery

By the way, I got my California DMV PTI tags.  $37 bucks  :-()

For my first trip, I will be going to Santee Lakes in San Diego County.  I believe they have full hook-up.  Since my trailer does not have a gray water holding tank, I plan to attach a  pool vacuum hose (25 feet x 1.5 inch diameter) using 1.5 inch sinking plumbing kit ($3) from Lowes.  Not having been to a full hookup CG, I don't know if that's going to work at a full hook-up CG-- can anyone tell me? How do I get my vacuum hose to connect to CG drain?

I do plan to do a lot of dry camping, too. From reading other posts I see that people are using 5 gallon buckets and ither containers, but my clearance from the drain hole to the ground is only 8 inches so what could I use instead of buying a expensive tote-along tank ($200) that some folks have?

The connection for the sewer at the campground is just the end of the pipe.  You will need to seal the end of your hose to the opening.  a foam "donut" is usually involved.  There are different connections you can put on the end of your drain hose.  You may be able to just shove the end of your drain hose into the donut.  Some people just stuff a rag around the end of the campground sewer to seal the end of the hose to the sewer.  25 feet is a long sewer hose.  You might want to think of getting some sump pump hose and using that instead.  On the rare occasion we have sewer hookups I use a garden hose to drain my grey water.  I have a plastic connector that has a fitting for a garden hose.  I put that plastic connector in the foam donut and I am all set.:)

Thanks, that is good to know.

Do you have any issues with it draining fast enough?  I'll be trying this method out for our PU next month for the sink and the cassette shower.  I've considered installing some type of venting system to assist with drainage - but if it's not needed, I'd rather not do it.

Thanks

I have a vent, but usually don't use it.  You can connect the shower and sink drain together using a simple "Y" hose connector/splitter.  I haven't had any problem with water backing up. :)

That's the setup I plan on using.  Thanks for the info!
