Hello Experts again,
I'm still dewinterizing and shaking out the coleman Santa Fe.
I changed the oil and gas on my generator and started it up today.  My question is this.  The 12v DC outlet on my generator is a strange 2 prong outlet.  I already have an adapter cable that I can charge the battery with.  I'm looking for an adapter cable that has a cigarette lighter plug on the other end so I can use the 12v on my generator to power my pump that I use for transfering water from my 7 gal containers into my FW tank.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Thanks

For both charging your trailer battery AND using the water pump you'll be better off plugging the trailer into the genset and using the trailer's converter for the 12 volt for both things. Just add a weather proof 12 volt outlet near where you'll use the pump, or run wiring in through the bunk end canvas to a source inside for using the pump. The genset's 12 volt output is only 8 amps and you can't run the econothrottle when using the 12 volt taps.
The converter will do a better job of charging the battery than the genset. Plus with the econo throttle on it will run at a lower RPM, use less gas, and be quieter.

I use my 25A battery charger to charge the PU battery, with my Honda EU20001 generator, for the same reason as stated above. The battery charger will put out up to 14.8v for a good charge. You may be limited to a 10-12A battery charger.

I have a 2002 Coleman PU and my converter is very inefficient and not really intended to "Charge" the battery. It is merely intended to "maintain" the battery and run 12v appliances while plugged into 110v. It will only put out less than 12.9v (max) and won't give the battery a good charge. Some of the later model campers are equipped with converters that have a "Smart charger" built in.

I have used that setup, and it works really well!!

I literally used Wayne's generator and battery charger at a rally when my battery died, he let me borrow it! :D

My Group27 battery was toast.  Someone forgot to set the refrigerator to run on propane, and it was still set to 12v DC at 2:00a.m. when the propane detector started to chirp!

It was quickly brought back to life within 90minutes using the external battery charger.
