My wife and I presently own a 2003 Forest River Flagstaff 206 LTD pop-up trailer.  We are fairly satisfied with the quality of construction and very pleased with the they way it tows.

We recently walked through a Forest River Flagstaff 2008 Model 523 Classic and were amazed at at the new features.  This model has a power roof lift system, storage, cassette toilet, shower electric brakes, reinforce roof and more.  It retials in my area for approximately $11,000.  It weighs in empty at about 2,200 lbs.

We having been planning on buying a small light weight trailer such as a Coachmen Micro Capri 159 hard side.  However with the price of gasoline rapidy approaching $4 per gallon in many areas and possibly reaching $5 per gallon we are think about staying with a pop-up.  We are not sure if the mileage towing the two would differ greatly but the bed in the Flagstaff is much larger and a major factor in our search for a trailer for our retirement years.  Our retirement income with be modest so cost is a big factor.

We are both approaching 60 and with each working over 25 years in the nursing profession our backs have taken a beating.  The electric lift system in the 2008 Flagstaff 523 interests us greatly.  We would appreciate any advice and/or comments on the lift system on the 523 and on the Micro Capri 159 hard side.

A friend we camp with has the electric lift on his pup. They love it! Never has there been an issue with the system. I say go for it and have fun camping!!

We have a 2007 Rockwood with the electric lift and I wouldn't have another pop-up without it.  It's so convenient and saves wear and tear on our backs!  It takes us about 15-20 minutes from unhooking to completely set up.
