Hey guys went out this weekend for our first trip and had a little problem with our interior lights not working and also noticed our gas detector isint working but it both worked fine before i left home. i plugged into the park power and all my electrical outlets work and i checked the breaker and fuses in my converter and its all fine. so im not sure whats happening unless it a bad ground wire or the power cut off switch up under the roof at the back is broken. its a bit of a pain having to plug in a lamp for lighting the camper, any ideas and im just hoping my converter isint fried.  Oh yea it a 01 Jayco Eagle 10UD thanks....

I had the same exact thing happen to me in Charleston, SC over New Year's. Your safety cutoff switch on the driver's side rear lift post has a wire with a spade connection that can pull off. Slide it back on, and I'll bet you're good to go. BTW, we have the exact same pup.

Im also thinking its in the switch, also how has your jayco been treating you? have you had any other issues in the past?

Our Jayco has been good so far. I had to do a little work to it when we bought it in Nov. of '06, but we knew those things when we bought it. The previous owner had never lit the frig on gas, so when we fired it up, we quickly found a gas leak at the fridge (fire came out where it wasn't supposed to!). I had a dealer fix that for free, as I found out that Jayco had a recall on that frig. for one of the gas line parts.

I replaced two drawer catches, and we knew the canvas had mold in it, so we bought a new canvas for it. I installed new wheel bearings as the previous owner had never greased them, and he didn't know what the previous owner before that had done.

The trailer came without brakes, so I installed electric brakes.

The bottom line is that our pup works very well for us. Most of the things we did to ours was either from neglect or maintenance that wasn't done. The drawer catches and the gas leak are the only things that really "broke". We love our camper and will probably keep it for a few years.
