Learning from experience is pricey I suppose but learning from someone else

been there...done that.. :banghead:

also happened once in the hybrid, luckily nothing thst could get damaged..just plastic trash cans :eyecrazy:

Used 2B PopUPTimes

We've done that too, but the nothing got ruined. I feel bad for you.

I have a plastic tote box with cover I place in the shower pan to hold kitchen stuff.  Nothing electronic or anything affected by water gets stored in the shower pan.  I also now make a point of removing the drain plug (carefully) before leaving the CG as I too have had the water get bumped on.

I've set my PUP up so that the only things that get packed/unpacked are food, clothing and dirty linens.  And, that all goes in the tow vehicle - all else stays in the PUP and it doesn't get re-opened until the next trip.

Same here. Luckily I did not have anything in there. I could not imagine loosing all that. I know how much text books cost due to my 2 oldest daughters in college. The notes were invaluable! Sorry this happened to you and I hope all will take note on our mistakes!

Man that doesn't seem like an isolated incident judging by those responding to the post. Now I'm really glad I don't have a shower in my pup.

The shower area is a very tempting storage area, but whatever you store in there must be waterproof.
In a trailer, when the grey waste tank gets full, the first sign is the tub filling up, with grey water coming up through the drain, and it is not nice clean water. I have heard of people getting stuff ruined this way also.

Thanks for sharing, and hopefully you will prevent someone else from having a similar disaster

We are new to pop ups and this post is invaluable. Thanks for sharing it. We have a hard wall shower and I'll have to remember only certain things can go in there.

I hope the electronics dry out and are usable again. Sorry for the college notes and books.

OC Campers

Been there, done that too.  Fortunately, we only store our bed pillow's which are in large green trash bags so nothing was damaged.   Hope you get everything dried out.

With the camper in question, the shower is separate connection from the sink drain (unless the owner has tied them together).  In this case you don't have to worry about grey water backing up into the PU.:)

Yup you are correct! The shower drain is separate from the kitchen. Still good advice for those who have that kind of set up.

Sorry to hear that has happened to so many.  Thanks for the post.  Good advice.  I am already paranoid about the shower and sink and all the plumbing that go along with.  I see the sink as being more of a potential problem than shower.  We have a sink that moves up and down to the floor (when PU is down).  What freaks me out is all the plumbing for the sink moves also.  Then theres the storage under the sink where all the pipes are at.  We have been keeping pans in there and I'm tremendously worried one of the pans will knock a fitting loose.  Should I not keep the pans in there?  Did I just answer my own question?

I am sorry to hear about your stuff.  I make a point to turn off the pump and take pressure off of the system as I am packing up.  If I am going any distance, I like to empty the tank for towing.
We store towels in the shower so if they get wet it just means more laundry.
