#1-Just noticed that the stitching at about a 3"-4" section of where my main window meets the canvas is ripping. Anything that I can do stop the ripping or fix it?

#2- Had a blow out on one of pop ups tires last week, noticed some rot on the other, as well as on the valve stem of the spare. They are original tires from 2000 Viking 2469 Legend, should I replace them all. Any outside Winter storage tips to keep it good shape?

1) ~ needle and H.D. black tread maybe

2) ~ new tires A.S.A.P., including spare

(Where is the PU being stored?)

1) Won't that rip the plastic window?
2) Stored outside on gravel pad with Aquashed cover.

I have new tires ordered for my pop-up. I lost a big chunk of tread on the highway in June. How did the trailer react with the blow out? I've had blow outs with my tow vehicle while trailering, but never one on the trailer. I always wondered if the trailer would be all over the road on a blowout.

I would take the panel off and take it to a canvas or awning shop and get it sewn on an industrial machine. They can run a row of stitches around the entire window in 5 minutes. It shouldn't cost much.

I agree on the tires. 5 years max on tires (if the trailer is used a lot) and 2-3 if the trailer isn't used much. The tires will rot before they wear-out and they rot faster if the trailer is just sitting.

Thanks for your suggestions. Any recommendations about 1) Removing the panel as it is the largest panel on the pup. 2) Should I do something different as far as parking the pup when not in use. It is currently on a gravel pad. It is about 2,500lbs so jacking up is not a viable option.

Thanks

The Pup handled just like a vehicle after the blow out, I actually thought that it was a rear wheel of the TV. I was able to pull immediately off road so no mad swaying.

I had that happen to me. Before you go any further, look at the place where the stiches pulled out. Is the panel tight at this point? So tight that it caused the stiches to pull out? Or is it an age/sunlight problem?
If the fabric has shrunk pulling the stiches out (as on mine), you will need to sew an extra bit of fabric to the zipper before reinstalling the zipper.
The panel probably slides into channels at the top and bottom and is retained by set screws (mine was). I withdrew the wires for the overhead lights from their sleeves, took out the set screws and slid the whole panel out. Took it to the Missus (who is a quilter). I put a strip of duct tape over the ripped holes and she sewed the extra fabric to the tape and zipper. Installation is reverse of removal. Worked fine and the duct tape and fabric repair sit discreetly behind the drapes.
