Hi,

Last weekend we finally made it on our maiden voyage aka trial run. We spent Fri - Sun in Buckhorn campground at Black Butte Lake,CA -army corpsof engineers. While it was very windy most of the time, we really enjoyed our trip. The 2005 Bayside did everything for us we hoped for and then some. The Tacoma performed flawlessly.

I want to thank all of you for the good advice, wise words, and encouragement. The Bal leveler, Bal chock, popup gizmos are awesome products to have. We feel confident we are ready for more and longer trips. Yosemite is next July 1- 8.

You guys rock!
P.S.: IF you need towing mirrors, I highly reccomend the Tow-n-See product. Yes they use suction cups, but trust me, no vibration whatsoever. They stayed in place and are are simply too good not to have. Remember what you all told me, safety first.

Congrats on a great trip.  The forum is awesome isn't it.  We purchased the Universal Tow Mirrors by CIPA and they haven't held up well.  The good news is the place we purchased them on the internet has sent us replacement parts free of charge. Off to google Tow-n-See...

Congratulations on your first trip. We are thinking of Yosemite for next summer so take lots of notes and pictures!

Glad the first trip went so well and that all your gear performed as you hoped!  You gotta love it when a plan comes together.

You're going to love Yosemite.

Not sure how you guys are coming into the park, but make it a point to get to the south entrance, which is Hwy41 and go to the Mariposa Tall Trees Grove of Redwoods.

Then just south of the park on Hwy 41 a couple miles is the Sugar Pine Mountain Railroad with a 6 wheel drive Shay(sp?) steam locomotive, and a couple miles of track, as well as some small diesel people mover type "trolly" trains.  Go take a ride, it's fantastic.
