Gas finally coming down

Here in AZ (at least around my house) we have seen gas prices drop about .09 the last two weeks. I actually bought gas for under $4 (3.99) the other day. I'm hoping the trend continues though the "experts" say that they expect gas to bottom out around $3.50.

In related news, I heard on the radio yesterday that someone was giving away 2 million (I think it was 2) to anyone that can come up with a car that gets at least 100 mpg. The price will go to the highest mpg. There's a guy back east I think it was that has an 88 Mustang, 400 hp, 0-60 in three seconds and goes over 100 mph and gets 110 mpg!! He added some electronics to the engine to make it more efficient. The story said that most engines operate at 9% efficiency and all he did was boost his to 38% to get the extra mpg. Let's hope this kind of technology catches on and becomes mainstream. Then we can all start camping more!! :#

Happy 4th of July everyone!  :U

I heard the exact same story on the radio yesterday (7-03-08).
He was asked why he hasn't sold his idea yet and he answered because he wanted the information to get to the public and not sealed in a file somewhere.
I tried finding any info on this on the web but couldn't find a thing about it.
Here's hoping it is true.

Not to throw a downer on prices, but they usually come down a few pennies before a big holiday and then ramp up severely, shortly afterward if I remember correctly.

Hope I am wrong on this as we are paying $4.59/9 and $4.57/9 ish around here and more.

Historically they come down just after Memorial Day but they didn't do that this year. Prices coming down is doubly good for me because I just got transferred back to my old plant at work and instead of gassing up every week I can go back to gassing up every third week. It's almost like getting a raise.
