Hello Everyone!

My wife and I purchased a new to us 2008 Starcraft 2409 after 15 years of tent camping with my family (DW, DS, and DD). It had been used only 3 times by the previous owner before he wanted a bigger TT.

Anyway, we are going on our maiden voyage with it to Lakeside Pines campground in Bridgton Maine in a week and a half and I am completely excited. My Parents and Brothers have been camping there for decades ever summer.

We want to get out somewhere closer to home after that trip and we are thinking of a weekend trip in September. We live in NJ now and wanted to get up to the Catskills.

I have done a lot of searches for a campground and I am having trouble picking one out b/c I want to make sure it compares to Lakeside Pines. I  know part of the fun is exploring news places and that is what makes camping great...I just want to not make a big mistake.

Here is what I am looking for....wooded spacious campsites, electric, water, and possibly sewer, but a dumping station is fine too. I am not looking for an RV type of park and I am not into pools at campgrounds. Somehow to me that doesn't seem like camping. I know some people like it and I don't mean to say campgrounds with pools aren't great, just not right for me. A lake and a beach is perfect - we have a 10 and a 4 year old that love to play in the water.

Somewhere where the people are friendly and quiet time means quiet time.

Is that asking too much :)?

We are hoping to find a CG in the Catskills that we love as much as Lakeside Pines.

Thanks for your recommendations! :)

I have done some more searching and found Rip Van Winkle Campround. http://www.ripvanwinklecampgrounds.com/index.htm

Does anyone have any experience with this CG?

Thanks again!
